I was always taught that nothing helps a cold more than a nice hot bowl of soup. My personal favorite happens to be tomato soup, and since I am coming down with a cold myself I thought I'd share a recipe of my all time fixer upper.
Recipe
1 medium yellow onion
6 tablespoons butter
2 14.5 - ounce diced tomatoes
4 tablespoons sugar
3 chicken bouillon cubes
1teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup fresh basil
A pinch of salt
Directions
1. Dice the onions and melt the butter in a large pot
2. Throw in the onions until cooked translucent
3. Once the onions have cooked throw in the tomatoes with the juice
4. Next, add the sugar and the three chicken cubes
5. Heat the pot almost to a boil and add pepper
6. Turn off the heat and stir in the heavy cream and parsley
7. For garnish throw some chopped basil on the top
8. Serve and enjoy a nice hot bowl of soup
